STAN CHEM offers a wide range of antiseptics and disinfectants which are manufactured to a very high standard in an ISO 9001 registered production facility in the United Kingdom.  They are particularly applicable where HFMD, SARS and Bird Flu are prevalent.

All these disinfectants meet the BS EN 1276 standard for bactericidal assay which means they are independently proven to reduce the bacterial strains of e-coli, staphylococcus aureus, pseudomonas aeruginosa and enteroccoccus hirae by at least 99.999% within 5 minutes when diluted as instructed.

The range of industrial disinfectants includes:

  • Stanpol Antiseptic Disinfectant
  • Stansol Disinfectant
  • Stansol B Black Fluids
  • Lysol BP

Stanpol

Stanpol is a high quality antiseptic formulated from PCMX, pine oil and vegetable oil soap. It has a characteristic chlorinated xylenols/pine odour and is suitable for use in first aid and medical applications. It can be compared directly with ‘Dettol’ antiseptic liquid and is sold in 2 grades:

  • Stanpol Fluid – a clear amber coloured antiseptic liquid, ready for bottling into retail packs, which conforms to the specification for Chloroxylenol Solution BP and meets EN1276 at a dilution rate of 1:50.
  • Stanpol Concentrate – is supplied in concentrated form and before bottling for resale should be diluted 1 part with 2 parts of water to form Stanpol Fluid for first aid and medical use. Stanpol Concentrate can also be diluted 1 part with 3 parts of water to produce a more economical antiseptic fluid.

Both grades of Stanpol meet the EN 1276 standard for bactericidal assay.

Stansol

Stansol is a traditional and economical, clear, amber coloured, antiseptic disinfectant based on chlorinated xylenols suitable for domestic and hospital applications. It combines many of the features of Stanpol but at a much lower cost and is comparable to ‘Dettol’ disinfectant. In most instances, the diluted Stansol may be used topically when cleaning cuts and abrasions and is used mainly in hospitals, clinics and in the home.

Stansol Concentrate – this versatile disinfectant concentrate can be diluted with up to 11 parts of water before bottling into retail packs to meet different market requirements, as follows:

  • Stansol Hospital Grade – a strong general purpose disinfectant for use in hospital and domestic applications produced by diluting Stansol Concentrate with 4 parts of water.
  • Stansol HeavyDuty – a strong, effective disinfectant fluid for heavy duty domestic and commercial applications, produced by diluting Stansol Concentrate with 7 parts of water.
  • Stansol Domestic – a strong, economical disinfectant fluid suitable for general domestic use, produced by diluting Stansol Concentrate with 11 parts of water.

All grades of Stansol meet the EN 1276 standard for bactericidal assay.

Stansol B

Stansol B liquids are strong black disinfectants, formulated from carbolic oils, coal tar oils and vegetable oil soap which are suitable for use in industrial, domestic and veterinary applications.

Stansol B disinfectants are the most popular and cost effective in the range and are available in several strengths all of which are bright black liquids and have a characteristic carbolic odour. StanSol B is comparable to Creoline or Phenyl and is sold in 4 grades:

  • Stansol B Fluid – an all-purpose black disinfectant which conforms to BS 2462 Grade BA. It is approved for use against avian flu at a dilution rate of 1:41 and meets EN1276 at a dilution rate of 1:50.
  • Stansol B Concentrate – a concentrated liquid which is designed to remain clear when diluted 1 part with 3 parts of clear fresh water. This dilution produces a general purpose disinfectant for use in industrial, domestic and veterinary applications. The resulting fluid meets EN1276 at a dilution rate of 1:40.
  • Stansol B 18/22 – stronger than Stansol Fluid, this versatile disinfectant is suitable for use in industrial, domestic and veterinary applications where a heavy duty disinfectant is required. A very strong black liquid ready for bottling into retail packs.  It meets EN1276 at a dilution rate of 1:200.
  • Stansol B 34/38 – a highly concentrated disinfectant fluid suitable for use in industrial and veterinary applications.

All grades of Stansol meet the EN 1276 standard for bactericidal assay.

Lysol BP

Lysol BP is a traditional phenolic disinfectant. It is a deep amber/red liquid ready for bottling into retail packs.  It is particularly suitable for heavy disinfection in hospitals (including surgical instruments), mortuaries and veterinary centres.

Lysol BP meets EN1276 at a dilution rate of 1:300.

Lysol BP, is formulated with cresols and a liquid soap according to the current British Pharmacoepia. It is a High Level Disinfectant and is much stronger than the alcohol based American Lysol which is a Low Level Disinfectant. As such, it should not be confused with Lysol – a trade name for a range of bland sanitizers containing quats or even alcohol as the active ingredient. Lysol BP continues to disinfect much longer than alcohol-based Lysols.
